The Adams Rite 4089 Exit Indicator provides clear notification of lock status, driven by the lock bolt itself. It displays the word "LOCKED" in red letters when thrown, or "OPEN" in green letters when retracted. Both are presented on a white background for maximum clarity and readability. It can be used on aluminum, wood, or hollow metal doorways, and includes two permanent adhesive header signs. One is in accordance with Uniform Building Code and reads "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS." The other is in accordance with NFPA and other local codes and reads "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN THE BUILDING IS OCCUPIED."
